American Friends of Hebrew University event in Chicago

My wife and I attended an event for American Friends of Hebrew University at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago. The event, Leaders of Distinction 2015, recognized two alumni: Steven Derringer and Steven Edelson. My wife works with Mr. Edelson, who was a student at the university in Jerusalem during the ’70’s. In addition to the honorees, facility, and students from the university spoke. It really was a great event. We learned a lot about the university. and met several interesting people. Jim Jackson of ESPN was the master of ceremony.

It was our first time in Chicago proper. I’ve attended conferences in the Chicago suburbs before but this was the first time I got to see the city. I love Chicago! We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and then went to the Art Institute before returning home.

The Ritz is across the street from the Sears Tower, or Willis Tower, and our room had a lake view, as you can see from this photo.
