Homemade-drying walnut oil

I wrote before about the drying linseed oil I prepared. I decided to continue my investigations by preparing some drying walnut oil, the results of which you can see in the accompanying photograph.

The walnut oil is clearer than the linseed oil and has the same excellent handling qualities.

How did I prepare it? I placed the oil in a covered lead container for three months. Every other day I gently rocked the container to prevent a skin forming. When the oil was ready, I decanted it into the two jars, straining it through cheesecloth.

The past several days, I modified my usual medium with the admixture of the homemade oil. It handles really well.
